Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Financial Technology and Global Risk Studies (ijftgrs) applies a double-blind peer review system for the evaluation of submitted manuscripts. This means that throughout the review process, neither the reviewers nor the authors are aware of each other’s identities. From the time a manuscript is received until its final publication, the following stages are completed in sequence:

A. Initial Screening Stage

After submission through the journal system, the manuscript will first be examined by the journal staff for compliance with the author guidelines and formatting requirements (normally within one week).

(To facilitate a faster review process, authors are strongly advised to carefully read the Author Guidelines before submission and prepare their manuscript strictly in accordance with the journal instructions available in the system.)

If the manuscript passes the first stage, it will then undergo a second preliminary evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief, Section Editor, and Scientific Committee in terms of content quality and relevance to the journal scope. This stage usually takes about one week.

B. Peer Review Stage

After passing the second stage, the manuscript will be sent to two expert reviewers in the relevant field. The review outcomes are handled as follows:

  • If both reviewers reject the manuscript, it will be rejected.
  • If one reviewer recommends major revision and the other rejects the manuscript, it will be rejected.
  • If both reviewers recommend major revision, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.
  • If one reviewer recommends minor revision and the other rejects the manuscript, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer. The final decision will then be made based on the third reviewer’s opinion in accordance with the above rules.
  • After the author submits the revised manuscript, it will be sent to one of the reviewers for comparative reassessment.

Once a final decision is reached, manuscripts will fall into one of the following categories:

  1. Accepted without revision
  2. Accepted subject to reviewers’ revisions
  3. Rejected

Manuscripts in the first category will proceed directly to publication scheduling after payment of acceptance and publication fees. Manuscripts in the second category will be returned to the corresponding author for revision. Rejected manuscripts will be withdrawn from the review process after notification to the author.

This stage usually takes 1 to 3 months.

C. Revision Stage

At this stage, the author(s) must submit the requested revisions within a maximum of 15 days from the date of notification, or provide justified reasons for not making certain revisions through the journal website.

Revisions may involve two or three rounds of back-and-forth correspondence until the manuscript content is considered satisfactory by the editorial board. After approval of the revisions, the manuscript will be referred to the author for payment of acceptance and publication fees.

D. Final Acceptance Stage

After satisfactory completion of the requested revisions (or provision of sufficient justification for no revision) and payment of the acceptance/publication fees, the manuscript will be placed in the publication queue. A formal acceptance letter confirming final acceptance and publication will then be sent to the author(s).

Note

  • Reminder emails are sent weekly to reviewers.
  • If a reviewer does not complete the review within one month, the manuscript will be withdrawn from that reviewer and reassigned to a new reviewer.
  • Depending on the extent of required revisions, reviewer comments, and the speed and accuracy of author responses, the full acceptance process in this journal typically takes around 6 months (subject to final reviewer approval).
